Christina Oiticica is featured by the Italian broadcaster VCO Azzurra TV, which reported on the opening of her solo exhibition When the Sky Invades the Earth (Quando il cielo invade la terra) at the Grand Hôtel Majestic in Verbania, on Lake Maggiore. Curated by Adelina von Fürstenberg and produced by ART for The World for its 30th anniversary, with the support of the Grand Hôtel Majestic and the Zuccari family, the show runs until 31 October 2026.
The report highlights Christina’s unique visual language, uniting painting and Land Art by integrating organic materials and traces of earth, water, stones and biodiversity. At its heart is a work shaped directly by the lake: immersed in the waters of Lake Maggiore three months earlier, it was brought back to the surface and retouched by the artist, carrying the mark of the currents, light and living elements that transformed it.
The exhibition brings together around ten paintings and some forty drawings, including illustrations made for Paulo Coelho’s book Stories for Parents, Children and Grandchildren. Together they offer an intense testimony to the meeting of artistic creation, the passing of time and the transformative power of nature.
